sandovallogo-300x91-6740205-3677767CARSON CITY–Dino DiCianno, director of the Nevada Department of Taxation, today informed Gov. Brian Sandoval of his intention to retire, effective immediately.

“I appreciate Dino’s many years of service to the state of Nevada, and I wish him well in his retirement. He has been a loyal and dedicated public servant for three decades,” Sandoval said.

Deputy Director Chris Nielsen will lead the agency until Sandoval names DiCianno’s successor. Sandoval asked Nielsen to begin preparing a full transition plan, including an immediate strategy to resume auditing mine operators to ensure the proper payment of the net proceeds of minerals tax. Sandoval has also directed the State Internal Audit Division to assist the Department of Taxation as it resumes the net proceeds audits.
