Bistro 7 has hired a talented new executive chef in Scott Allen.
On scholarship at USC, Allen was poised for a career in baseball when an injury led him to pursue an entirely different passion, behind an entirely different kind of plate.
He is an honors graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco with more than 20 years of experience including extensive work with such world-renowned chefs as Wolfgang Puck, Philippe Jeanty and Bob Hurley at culinary landmarks like Spago, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grille, The Ritz Carlton, Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse NYC and Sunset in Malibu.
Allen’s cooking philosophy is to keep it fresh, seasonal, organic and sustainable with simple, but not simplistic, flavors and presentation.
Owner Dave Bogart remarked, “We are excited that a chef with Scott’s exceptional background has decided to make Northern Nevada his home. A classically trained chef with so much experience in a variety of cuisines including seasonal American, French, Italian and Asian makes him the perfect chef for Bistro 7’s global menu. Come and enjoy the new preparation of B7’s winter menu and look for the chef to put his own signature style on our new spring menu, coming soon.”
