SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

bgctmstackedcolor600-300x189-8007474-5105792The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is seeking assistance from the community as the start of its annual Adopt-A-Family program marks the return of the holiday season.  Now in its 10th year, the Club’s Adopt-A-Family program invites members of the community to adopt one or more of the 100-plus families who have requested help for the holidays by selecting a participating family and purchasing wish list items ranging from toys and clothes to food baskets and school supplies.

“Our Adopt-A-Family program is aimed at making sure every child in the Truckee Meadows has what they need this holiday season despite the grim economic circumstances many in the community are facing right now,” said Mike Wurm, chief professional officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. “This is why we’re asking those in the community who are able, to assist these families as much as they can. Please help us make this dream a reality by ensuring a merry Christmas for all families.”

To adopt a family for the 2010 Adopt-A-Family program, please contact Amanda Duncan at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows at 775-331-5437 or at [email protected] from now through Dec. 10. All gifts are due to the Club by Friday, Dec. 17 in order to ensure delivery in time for the holiday.

For more information on the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows or any of its holiday-related programs including membership or contribution opportunities, call 775-331-KIDS (775-331-5437) or visit www.BGCTM.org.
