John Hester’s two-run single started the scoring for Reno in the second, and the Aces poured it on from there, scoring eight runs over the next three innings. Valdez (3-6) made it stick, tossing seven shutout frames to ensure at least a series split for Reno.

Ed Rogers and Brandon Allen homered for the Aces, guaranteeing that Aces fan Dave DeRosa will receive new energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs for his entire home, compliments of NV Energy.

Kevin Pucetas (2-6) took the loss for Fresno, after surrendering eight runs and 11 hits over four innings of work.

Rogers and Hester led the Aces offense, finishing a combined 5-for-9 while driving in three runs. Allen’s home run was his 15th of the season and fourth in his last five games.

The two teams wrap up their season series Monday night, with Reno RHP Kevin Mulvey (5-6, 4.85 ERA) set to face Grizzlies RHP Eric Hacker (11-5, 4.51 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Aces Ballpark.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com. The brand-new Freight House District, located just outside Aces Ballpark, is open seven days a week, on both game days and non-game days.
