Elko, Nev.–Learn historic dressmaking in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. The California Trail Interpretive Center will host a workshop designed to assist people who wish to create clothing from the mid 1800s era. The workshop will take place at the Trail Center, 8 miles west of Elko, Friday, Sept. 25, through Sunday, Sept. 27.
Instructor Elizabeth Stewart-Clark will guide students through the many phases of creating mid 1800s period clothing. From children’s clothing, foundations and adjusting and fitting commercial patterns to skirting and headwear, the workshop will provide students with the basics to sew era clothing. Participants can register for individual modules or take all of them.
