Big-Idea-Challenge-pic.Do you have big ideas? Do you want to hear other people’s big ideas and possibly collaborate on some of those big ideas?

Well, get excited because the Big Idea Challenge is coming to Reno! Reno is hosting the Next City Vanguard Conference, which brings together top urban innovators, all age 40 and under, who think they have the big ideas that will make their city great.

This year’s conference is focusing on “temporary interventions to the built environment that address issues of walkability, safety or connectivity, if not all three.” Proposals should seek to improve perceptions of Reno’s downtown neighborhoods and encourage activity in the public realm. The interventions should be feasible to accomplish with a budget of $10,000 within the next 12 months.

Join the conference Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at Cargo inside Whitney Peak. Tickets are $35 and include beer, wine, and hor d’oeuvres. For more information, visit EDAWN.
