A man is wanted after allegedly shooting four people outside Midtown’s Shea’s Tavern. Reno Police Officer Chris Johnson said mid-day Saturday that police are still gathering details. What is known is that four people were transported to the hospital early Saturday morning.

The suspect has not been publicly identified. “Our detectives are working leads right now,” Johnson said.

The shooting occurred shortly after midnight at Shea’s Tavern, and Reno Police Department (RPD) officers cordoned off the area. A Reno Police sergeant who identified himself as Sgt. DeSantis confirmed the details to This Is Reno.

“There was a shooting at Shea’s Tavern. Four people were shot,” Reno Police Sgt. Carl Desantis told This Is Reno’s Eric Marks, who arrived on scene shortly after the shooting.

Police said the incident was isolated and that there is “no danger to the public.” As of early Saturday morning, Virginia Street and accompanying side roads were still closed.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation. The Reno Police Department is asking motorists and individuals to please avoid the area of South Virginia Street from California Avenue to Cheney Street,” the RPD said in a press release issued Saturday morning.
