UPDATE (July 16): Hunter Brown was selected as the sculpture artist on Monday. Art will go outside of the roundabout.

New sculptures will be installed in Midtown as part of the RTC Virginia Street road project. Four artists applied to have their art installed at a roundabout that will be constructed at Mary and Virginia Streets.

The city’s arts and culture commission will select on Monday which project will be chosen for the roundabouts. Each of the projects featured tall sculptures either within the roundabouts or standing outside of the traffic circles.

The commission is meeting Monday at 11 am at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center at 925 Riverside Drive.

CORRECTION: The original story reported that the art would be installed at two roundabouts. While another roundabout is going in on North Virginia, the art is slated only for the Mary/Virginia Street roundabout.
