Discover the magic and history behind the brilliant American Composer, George Gershwin, as the Reno Phil orchestra performs Gershwin’s Magic Key presented by Classical Kids Live, on November 10th from 1 p.m.- 3 p.m., for a FREE family concert.

The story in this performance follows a friendship that develops over time between a poor newspaper boy chasing his musical dream, and Gershwin. As the exploration of American music continues to grow between the two, the key to unlocking the boy’s natural musical potential is revealed. The afternoon brings the whole family together, including the kids. Pre-concert activities provided by the Nevada Discovery Museum, Arts for All Nevada, Blue Note B’s Horn Shop, Nevada Museum of Art, and much more will begin at 1:00pm.
“Bringing families together is the best way to enjoy any performance and our family concerts are designed to engage everyone while telling a story through music. There will even be a 12-foot piano that people can play with their feet!” said Altieri. “We hope you will join the Reno Phil orchestra on a Saturday afternoon with the whole family for a spectacular and moving story told through music and symphony.”
