The Perry Fire north of Reno has burned about 25,600 acres and forced the evacuations of homes near the fire.

“The shelter at Ironwood Event Center at 5600 Whiskey Springs Road remains open to people and livestock,” according to officials, and the Red Cross has set up an evacuation hotline at 775-741-3564.

Air and ground forces continue to battle the fire. No structures have been lost. Hot, dry weather is expected to continue this week with an increase in fire activity also expected.
