FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA, RENO
A lecture with former U.S. Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada and former Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled at 3 p.m. April 3 in the Glick Ballrooms of the Joe Crowley Student Union at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).
The event is free and open to the public, although reservations are required. The topics will be bipartisanship and public service.
UNR announced last summer that in honor of the former Senate majority leader’s numerous contributions to the university and state, the biannual event would be named after him: “Harry Reid Public Engagement Lecture Series.” The Department of History, the Core Humanities Program, and the Office of the President put on the event.
The series will bring leaders whose careers in government, public service, or community activism demonstrate the contributions of humanities disciplines to public life.
The lecture series is designed to address emerging topics and current events of interest to a broad audience.
Doors open at 2 p.m. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
