Wild Garlic Pizza & Pub invites art and food lovers to its downtown location to enjoy a unique pizza and art event, dubbed Pizzart, Thursday, July 20, between 7 and 9 p.m. A portion of the event’s proceeds benefit the Veteran’s Guest House.
Attendees of Pizzart will enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres including Wild Garlic’s famed pizza bites and garlic knots, plus one adult beverage per person, all for just for $10. Most importantly, guests can view an art exhibit hosted by Wild Garlic featuring work by local artist Kaelyn McGowen.
“Since it is the month of July, the month that celebrates America, we wanted to support those that have served our country and helped to keep us safe,” said Wild Garlic owner Dean Christopher.
A portion of this quarter’s Pizzart event will benefit Veteran’s Guest House, an organization that provides US military service veterans and their families temporary overnight accommodations when receiving treatment at a medical facility in the Reno-Sparks area.
“We are so excited to be involved with Wild Garlic,” said Noreen Leary, CEO of Veteran’s Guest House. “It’s because of the generosity of local businesses like the Wild Garlic, that the Guest House can continue to serve more veterans year after year.”
Featured artists change quarterly for each season’s Pizzart event, with dates to be released at a later time.
“With it also being the month of Artown in July we hope everyone comes out to celebrate. Art is what keeps Reno beautiful, and pizza is what makes the world go round,” said Christopher.
