The 2017 season of Artown is off to a great start. The event began at Wingfield park yesterday with an opening night jubilee. The California Honeydrops played the park until 9 p.m. A parade then led an audience to City Plaza with the RJS Brass Revival and Controlled Burn.
Moondog Matinee played and the Reno Aerial Co-op performed as well. More than 40 artists showcased work on the Virginia Street bridge. View a photo gallery below.
Ty O’Neil is a lifelong student of anthropology with two degrees in the arts. He is far more at home in the tear gas filled streets of war torn countries than he is relaxing at home. He has found a place at This Is Reno as a photojournalist. He hopes to someday be a conflict photojournalist covering wars and natural disasters abroad.
