Due to the growing concern in medical aviation safety, Care Flight has produced this informative video on the potential dangers of flying drones in the vicinity of medical helicopters.
It is imperative that patients and flight teams are able to complete their flights without encountering any drone activity. If a drone is encountered during flight activity, Care Flight would be forced to alter its flight path which can cause delay in patient care, and possibly pose the inability to complete its mission.
Care Flight began operations in 1981 in Reno, and now includes bases in Reno, Gardnerville and Truckee. Care Flight services all of northern Nevada and northeastern California. Care Flight is under the authority of REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority), creating a comprehensive EMS system with fully integrated ground and air emergency medical services.
