POLICE: Bicyclist in Hospital After Riding Through Red Light

The Reno Police Department announced today that a bicyclist was “riding recklessly” on Fourth Street, rode through at red light and was hit by a vehicle that had the right of way.

“The 27 year old bicyclist is currently undergoing emergency surgery due to a traumatic head injury, and is listed as critical,” said police. “After interviewing witnesses, and reviewing video surveillance footage, it is believed that the bicyclist was riding his bicycle recklessly in the travel lanes of Fourth Street and after riding his bicycle through a red light at the intersection, was struck by a vehicle which had the right of way.”
