A crowd of residents and onlookers gathered around a burning apartment building on the corner of Plumas Street and Moana Lann. The Sundance West apartments, located at 3285 Clover Way in Reno, suffered a fire due to an electrical issue.

The third floor apartment caught fire about 4:30 pm 3/22/16. The Reno Fire Department immediately responded. The building was declared a collapse zone and at least one of the third floor occupants needed rescue. The entire complex was evacuated and many watched as the Reno Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

Plumas was closed north of Moana Lane and about 30-40 residents are without homes. Red Cross will be assisting.
