CARSON CITY — The Nevada Division of Insurance has posted the approved 2016 health insurance rates for individual and small group markets online at healthrates.doi.nv.gov. This is the first opportunity for Nevadans who purchase health insurance on their own or as a small business to see how much it will cost in 2016.
“Nevadan’s benefit from a very competitive health insurance market place,” said Acting Insurance Commissioner Amy Parks. “We are pleased that we can provide this information in a timely manner and through a centralized location to assist Nevadans in their purchasing decisions prior to Open Enrollment which begins November 1, 2015.”
In 2016, there will be 18 carriers on and off the Exchange. Consumers will have 250 separate plan options to choose from in the individual market and employers can select from 400 small group plans.
On October 23, 2015, the Division will be posting the supporting documents for each individual and small group plans. This will include the Schedule of Benefits, the Evidence of Coverage, links to the drug formulary list, as well as the medical provider network information.
To view the rates and plan information, visit www.doi.nv.gov, click on Health Insurance Rates in the main navigation menu. From the “Health Insurance Rate Review” page, click on “Search for Health Insurance Rates.”
Rates are displayed by age and county, and are for non-smokers. The search results are displayed and then sortable by plan name, carrier name, metal tier, and whether it is offered on or off the Exchange. This allows the search to be limited for quicker focused results.
