The Reno Police Department (RPD) made multiple arrests for prostitution and sex trafficking from June through August.
According to a statement issued by RPD this week, “We believe the supply of exploited victims will decrease if the demand can be impacted and reduced by conducting frequent operations.”
Eight were arrested for solicitation, three were arrested for pandering, including one for an additional charge of sex trafficking a victim under 18, and six females were arrested for prostitution, three of whom were runaways under 18.
“Often the females who engage in prostitution are introduced at a young age and are frequently being exploited or trafficked by a physically controlling individual,” police said.
