Holland & Hart, in partnership with The Abbi Agency and J.A. Solari & Partners, has launched the Biggest Little Startup Competition from September 25 to November 12 to support the growth of one emerging Northern Nevada company. The winner of the competition will be awarded a prize package valued at $25,000, which includes $5,000 cash, corporate legal services from Holland & Hart, PR and marketing services from The Abbi Agency, and accounting services from J.A. Solari & Partners.
The contest will take place in two phases:
Phase One — Video Entry and Voting
Participants are asked to submit a three-minute video describing their startup concept and what entrepreneurship means to them to the competition’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/
Phase Two — Live Pitch
The five videos with the most votes will participate in a live pitch competition on November 12 at the University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center in Reno. A panel of judges will select one winner based on depth of business planning, previous sales performance or test marketing, and growth strategy. The winner selected at the live pitch competition will be awarded the prize package valued at $25,000.
Only existing or proposed businesses are eligible to enter the Biggest Little Startup Competition. To be eligible to participate, businesses must 1) maintain a primary operating location within 100 miles of Reno; and 2) gross income in any of the years 2013, 2014, or the first nine months of 2015 that does not exceed $300,000.
