May 2: Beginner’s Guide to Bountiful Tomatoes and Their Cousins
Join Plant Doctor and horticulturist Jon Bruyn to learn how easy it is to successfully grow and enjoy (harvest) tomatoes and other complementary warm season vegetables in the high desert. He’ll discuss varieties and proper care throughout the season. This presentation is good for the beginner to advanced gardener with many tips that you will find useful.

All are welcome & encouraged to attend
Fertilizer and pesticide safety and ways to prevent injuries while in the garden will be discussed. Bring any unwanted/unusable insecticides, weed killers, rodent bait and other pesticides for disposal. Bret Allen from the State of Nevada Agriculture Dept. will be on hand to collect them.

Learn everything you need to know to prepare flowers from your garden for display in your own home as well as for Moana Nursery’s Biggest Little Flower Show on June 13, 2015. We’ll show you how easy it is enter by explaining how to interpret a schedule, select your flowers, make entry tags and create better specimen entries and floral arrangements. Program is offered at two times:

Must reserve and pay for hands on floral arranging workshop in advance. Class size is limited to 10, though others may audit for free. Bring to the seminar by-pass pruners, small towel and bucket. Register & pay in person with the Moana Lane cashier or call 825-0600 by Wednesday, May 27.
