The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Black Rock Field Office with partnering agencies is hosting the annual Black Rock Rendezvous event May 22-25, 2015
BLM, Friends of Black Rock High Rock, Friends of Nevada Wilderness and Nevada Outdoor School offer a three-day, environmentally friendly, camp-out event for volunteers to start off the summer season.
The event includes public lands service projects, family friendly activities and guided natural and cultural interpretive tours.
Participants will be able to participate in a Dutch oven cook-off on Saturday evening and a potluck dinner on Sunday evening. Musicians will be able to share their talent with their instrument of choice around the campfire on both nights.
“The BLM looks forward to contributing to a fun-filled, environmental education opportunity for the public. With Leave No Trace principles set in place throughout the event, campers will be contributing to protecting and preserving their public lands,” said William Mack, field manager for the Black Rock Field Office.
For a schedule of events or to register, please visit the Friends of Black Rock’s web page at: http://blackrockdesert.org/blackrockrendezvous/. The event is free of charge, open to the public, and though pre-registration is not required, it is appreciated.
