Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve will be a panelist and sponsor for the second annual Girl Empire, a conference dedicated to empowering and preparing girls interested in leadership and entrepreneurship.
Young women attending middle school and high school who aspire to be entrepreneurs and leaders will meet for Girl Empire on Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Grove in south Reno.
Schieve will reflect on her achievements when she addresses Girl Empire participants.
“There are a lot of brilliant and dedicated young women in Reno with great ideas,” Schieve said. “Girl Empire is an excellent opportunity to connect some of Reno’s most successful women in leadership and entrepreneurship with young women aspiring to reach their own professional and educational goals.”
At the all-day conference, students will have the opportunity to hear from entrepreneurial leaders, learn about the local start-up scene and receive guidance and advice for college and professional planning.
