After a seven day trial, a Washoe County jury found Thomas Wray Herndon guilty of eight counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 14 and two counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 14.
The case involved three victims, who reported the abuse to authorities in July 2013. One victim reported the abuse started as early as 2000. The case was investigated by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons Unit. The defendant confessed to several of the crimes.
Judge Jerome Polaha presided over the jury trial and will sentence the defendant on Thursday, May 7, 2015. All 10 counts carry life sentences.
