On Sunday, November 9, 2014, at approximately 2230 hours, Reno Police dispatch received a call regarding a shooting near a taxi cab in the 900 block of Wheeler Ave., Reno. Upon arrival, officers located the Whittlesea cab along with the driver who was alone and suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers began life saving efforts until REMSA arrived and transported the victim to Renown where he died.
The taxi driver has been positively identified as 55 year old Reno Resident Sami Amin.
The investigation is continuing and the Reno Police Department has been advised by Secret Witness that there is a reward being offered for any information leading to an arrest and conviction of the individual (s) who committed this crime.
