Anyone interested in living a more meaningful life can find out this weekend about the useful tools Breema offers for moving in that direction. The Breema Center will present two events, open to all, at the Reno Buddhist Center’s Hiroma Hall.
On Friday, October 24, a free “Experience Breema” evening from 7-8:30pm introduces people to Breema and provides an opportunity to receive a complimentary mini-session. On Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26, the workshop, titled “Breema: the Art of Being Present,” provides a more in-depth, experiential exploration. Jon Schreiber, D.C., Director of the Breema Center in Oakland, CA, will lead both events. The author of several books and CDs about Breema bodywork and its universal philosophy, he has taught Breema internationally for over 30 years.
Breema’s rhythmic movements are dynamic and nurturing, and support both giver and receiver to experience greater vitality, balance, and openness to life. Practicing Breema and Self-Breema helps unify the energies of body, mind, and feelings to raise our level of consciousness. Applying the Nine Principles of Harmony in any situation supports having a more essential relationship to ourselves, others, and all life.
“Breema provides a transformative approach to movement and touch that offers new possibilities,” Schreiber said. “It teaches us practical steps we can take to become more present, not only while practicing Breema but in the midst of our daily activities.”
No bodywork experience is needed, but being comfortable working on a padded floor is recommended. Bodyworkers can receive NCBTMB CE for the workshop.
Cost for the weekend $200; Saturday-only $135; Sunday-only $75. Pre-registration is advised. The Reno Buddhist Center is at 820 Plumas Street.
