Circus Circus Reno employees and their families donated their time and energy to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Their efforts resulted in over 7,000 pounds of food packed and ready for families in the area.
“I hate the thought of children going hungry,” said Ramiro Coronado, entertainment manager for Circus Circus Reno and a regular volunteer for Food Bank trips. “Circus Circus Reno realizes our community needs help and the Food Bank is one of those wonderful agencies that does that in the community.”
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is a regional food distribution and support system for more than 130 different direct service, non-profit agencies who serve the needy, the ill, the elderly and children. Among clients who visit emergency food sites, 11 percent are over age 60.
Children are the most vulnerable to hunger with 37 percent of emergency food recipients being children under the age of 18. For more information visit www.fbnn.org.
