Thousands of nautically-clad partiers will head downtown Reno Saturday, July 12 for the 2014 Reno Pirate Crawl. The event will feature drink specials, costume contests, pirate-themed entertainment with 15 different bars, clubs and taverns taking part in the fun.
Festivities are planned to begin at 8 pm at Harrah’s Plaza on Virginia Street where the band Krockstars will perform their own brand of karaoke, bringing pirates up on stage to sing with live instrumental accompaniment.
The Freight House District at the Aces Ballpark will have the USS Nevada pirate ship art car on display as well.
Pirate Crawl cups are on sale now at Junkee Clothing Exchange and will be available at Harrah’s Plaza on the night of the event. More info on this event, and the first ever Steampunk Tavern Stroll on July 19, may be found at www.letsdothings.com.
According to event organizers, Reno has become the crawl capital in recent years, as holiday celebrations including bar crawls have boosted tourism and pumped money into the local economy while providing entertainment for both locals and tourists alike.
