MIKE STEEDMAN NEWS RELEASE
Small business owner and community leader Mike Steedman announced today that he plans to run for Reno City Council Ward 4, the seat being vacated by Dwight Dortch, who is term-limited.
Steedman owns several businesses, including Truckee River Paint and Wallpaper and the Studio on 4 Performing Art Venue, which currently employ five full-time and several part-time workers.
“Government needs to make it easier for our community to work together and create jobs. As a councilman, job creation will be my number one priority,” said Steedman.
Steedman serves on the Northeast Neighborhood Advisory Board and is a member of the City of Reno’s Redevelopment Agency’s Advisory Board, the Sierra Arts Foundation Board and the Advisory Board of the Holland Project. He has also served as a member of the Associated General Contractors and the Builders Association of Northern Nevada.
Mike has worked extensively to clean up the 4 Street corridor and supports redeveloping areas to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship.
“I’m the kind of guy who rolls up my sleeves to get the job done,” said Steedman.
“I’m eager to continue my commitment to making Reno a better place to live by serving on the City Council.”
