Cone Zones: Use caution and allow for extra travel time

cityofreno-189x300-8620459-5924403With the numerous road construction projects occurring in and around Reno, the city of Reno wants to encourage drivers to use caution and allow for extra travel time.

A complete list of street closures and lane restrictions expected within the city can be found by visiting Reno.gov and clicking on the “Maps & Construction” section. Street closures and lane restrictions associated with upcoming special events such as the Reno River Festival and Moms on the Run are also included.

Some major construction projects currently underway include:

• At Lakeside Drive at Hillcrest Drive: a Truckee Meadow Water Authority (TMWA) main replacement. Crews will be working between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. During work hours Lakeside Drive will be closed between Plumb Lane and Lymberry Street. Detours signs will be in place directing traffic of alternative routes.

• At Moran Street between Virginia Street and Center Street: sewer rehabilitation work. Crews will be working from 7 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. Sunday through Friday.

• Hood Avenue and Maddux Drive between Valley Road and Sutro Street: street and sewer rehabilitation work. Detours signs will be in place directing traffic of alternative routes.

Access to businesses will be maintained during all construction projects.
