The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows begins early bird registration April 3 for exciting summer programs, field trips, specialty camps and more at sites throughout northern Nevada. Early bird summer camp registration and member orientation dates are April 3, April 17, April 22 and April 24 at the Donald W. Reynolds facility only.
Early registration is recommended as space is limited for summer camp programs. Summer camp enrollees get all-day fun, breakfast and lunch included, and supervision by adults who make it a priority to keep the activities rolling for nine weeks from June 10 to Aug. 9.
Youth summer camp sites include the Donald W. Reynolds Facility (9th Street), Neil Road Youth Site, Joe Mitchell Community Center in Lemmon Valley, Billinghurst Middle School, Cold Springs Community Center, Fernley Intermediate School and, catering to those 5 years and under, the Early Learning Program at the E.L. Wiegand Youth Center across from Reno High School. Reno Youth site summer camp hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (Fernley hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.).
Teen Center summer sites include the Donald W. Reynolds Facility, Sun Valley Teen Center, Larry D. Johnson Teen Center and Fernley Teen Center at Fernley Intermediate School (hours vary at teen center sites).
All summer club members take part in organized activities ranging from sports, art and singing to dance and computers. Frequent field trips allow kids to visit places such as the Nevada Discovery Museum, Wild Island Family Adventure Park, movies, Coconut Bowl and more. Throughout the summer, the club also features specialty summer camp programs focusing on diverse activities such as robotics, dance, equestrian, science, extreme sports and more. Fees for traditional summer camp as low as $40 per week with financial assistance available.
