Renown appoints new medical director for rural primary care practices

Marie McCormack, M.D., has joined Renown Health as the medical director for rural primary care practices. Dr. McCormack has worked with Renown as a family practitioner for six years in Fernley.

She will oversee the Renown primary care providers in Fallon, Fernley and Silver Springs. In addition, Dr. McCormack will ensure each practice meets the purpose and fundamentals of Renown Health.

Along with her duties as Medical Director, Dr. McCormack will continue to see patients at her practice.

Dr. McCormack is a board certified practitioner of family medicine. She completed her residency in family practice at the School of Medicine in Wichita, Kan. and at the University of Kansas from 1992 to 1995. She attended medical school at the University of Nevada, Reno from 1988 to 1992.

Before working in Fernley, Dr. McCormack was a family practitioner for Churchill Community Hospital from 2001 to 2006. She also worked in family practice at the Department of Family Medicine for the Wenatchee Valley Clinic in Wenatchee, Wash. from 1995 to 2001.

Dr. McCormack is affiliated with the Nevada Academy of Family Practice and the American Academy of Family Practitioners.
