NNDA NEWS RELEASE
DAYTON, Nev. — Northern Nevada Development Authority is excited to announce that Carboline Company has acquired an existing 184,500-square-foot building in Dayton for the purpose of manufacturing and distributing high performance industrial coatings to support its customer service expectations in the western United States and throughout the world.
Carboline expects to invest several million dollars in modifications to the building to accommodate manufacturing and comply with all regulatory codes. The facility, at 95 Airpark Vista Blvd., is slated for production by September 2012.
“We are excited about our new manufacturing facility in the western United States to service Carboline’s growing business. We have enjoyed significant success both domestically and internationally over the past several years, and we continue to invest internally to support our growth. This third domestic coatings manufacturing facility supports our long-term strategy of maintaining our leadership position in the industrial and marine coatings markets in North America and internationally,” stated Richard M. Wilson, president of Carboline Company.
“I am very pleased to join Northern Nevada Development Authority in welcoming Carboline to Dayton,” Governor Brian Sandoval said. “Manufacturing is a key segment of our economic development plan, and Carboline’s decision to place their third manufacturing facility in our state is a strong vote of confidence.”
Rob Hooper, NNDA executive director, added, “This has been a very long process that began over a year ago with a fantastic showing and major round-table meetings with over 25 Lyon County staff and officials participating to bring this company to Dayton. The county deserves tremendous credit for their business friendly attitude and great service profile, not only to this client but every other one we have worked with. Jeff Page and his team have set a new standard in local government support of business. We greatly appreciate them.”
Tom Miller of Miller Industrial Properties was NNDA’s Team Lead on this project, and as always, did a fantastic job in working with NNDA’s Business Development Director, Danny Campos, and the entire commercial real estate team. It is important to note that the NNDA strategy of including highly experienced commercial real estate agents as active participants in the recruitment process is continuing to prove itself as a superior way of operating. Results speak for themselves.
Bill Miles of Miles Construction has also been a tremendous supporter of this process and is handling the facility remodeling and upgrades. His company is one of the most consistent supporters of economic development in the region.
