WINNEMUCCA: Christmas tree permits available in time for holidays

WINNEMUCCA — The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Winnemucca District will begin selling Christmas tree permits on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011.  The $4 permit authorizes the cutting of one piñon or juniper tree in a tree-cutting area located within the Winnemucca District portion of the Stillwater Range.  Trees marked as seed trees may not be cut.

 

The permits can be purchased at the Winnemucca BLM District Office, 5100 East Winnemucca Blvd., Monday through Friday, except federal holidays, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or in Lovelock, at the Pershing County Farm Service Agency (FSA), 110 America Blvd., Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An information sheet and map will be distributed with each permit.  Permits expire on Dec. 25, 2011.
