SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

After months of excitement and anticipation, Nevada’s first statewide day of giving is here. This Thursday, Nov. 17, Nevada’s Big Give will open the door to all Nevadans looking to donate to charitable organizations in the state. The Big Give encourages community members to improve the quality of life in Nevada by helping raise $1 million in a single day. There are more than 400 participating nonprofit organizations throughout the state, half of which are located in northern Nevada. On Thursday, simply click to give where you live by visiting www.nvbiggive.org.

“Nevada’s Big Give would not have been possible without the tremendous amount of support received from communities statewide,” said Stacey Wedding, volunteer board president of NevadaGIVES. “It has truly been amazing to see Nevadans unite with the same mission—to strengthen the nonprofit community and improve the lives of those living in our state.”

Nevada’s Big Give heats up as more than 400 participating nonprofit organizations compete to raise the most dollars. NevadaGIVES, the nonprofit organization that coordinated Nevada’s Big Give, is offering prizes and matching donations to the top three charitable organizations. Furthermore, 12 ‘Golden Tickets’ will be awarded for $1,000 each. Tickets will be awarded to randomly selected charities at various times throughout the day.
