Silver Saver, Flight Plan and new package plans available for 2012
The Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA) has opened its annual enrollment for the 2012 Silver Saver ground ambulance membership program. The membership program protects households against deductibles and co-payment costs that may not be covered by insurance policies, Medicare, or other health benefits for medically necessary paramedic ambulance services from REMSA.
As an added benefit, REMSA and Care Flight are offering Silver Saver members the option to add Care Flight’s Flight Plan to their Silver Saver membership for and additional $40 per year. Flight Plan membership, like Silver Saver, covers deductibles and co-pays for air transports. Flight Plan is also reciprocal with programs in California, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming combined package plan for Washoe County residents.
“Offering our members both air and ground services at an affordable rate is another way REMSA is helping Washoe County individuals and families feel safe,” said Klark Staffan, vice president of REMSA. “Not only are they gaining piece of mind, but saving money as well which is something I think we all can appreciate.”
For Silver Saver only, household memberships can now be purchased for $69 until Dec. 31, 2011 and will be valid through Dec. 31, 2012. Silver Saver is not an insurance policy, nor is it meant to be a substitute for health insurance. If you do not have any insurance or other coverage, or if your insurance company or other payor denies payment, you will be responsible for the payment of the fees for those services. However, REMSA will discount the fees by 20 percent for Silver Saver members.
