RENO FIRE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE
Today at 10:23 a.m., Reno firefighters along with volunteers from the Red Rock and Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 355 Appaloosa Circle.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy, active fire at the 4,500-square-foot, two-story single family residence.
The fire caused significant heat and smoke damage throughout the residence, but the structure was not a total loss. At the time of this release, firefighters were still on scene conducting extensive overhaul operations. The occupants of the residence have made alternative living arrangements.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
The Reno Fire Department responded to the fire with three structure engines, one water tender, one safety officer, one air support unit, one fire investigator, the fire department chaplain and one battalion chief. The Bureau of Land Management and the United States Forest Service provided protection from wildland exposure. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and NV Energy responded to the incident to provide support services.
