Reno-based religious leader Rajan Zed has been awarded the “Northern Nevada Interfaith Leadership Award.”
The wording of the award, presented on May 31 in Reno by Dave Asher, executive director of Reno-Sparks Local Business Co-Op and Green Chamber of Commerce, says, “to Inter-Religious Statesman Rajan Zed for his leadership efforts to create trust and mutual loyalty among various faith traditions in the region. We recognize his achievements through dialog and building a cohesive and harmonious community and offering Spiritual Enrichment to the region, country and world.”
At the event giving this award to Zed, Asher commented, “We are proud to present this award.”
Zed has taken up religion, interfaith, Hinduism, environment, Roma and other causes all over the world. He has read opening prayers in the U.S. Senate, various state senates and houses of representatives, counties and city councils all over USA. He is a panelist for “On Faith,” a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced by The Washington Post. He is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, senior fellow and religious advisor to New York-headquartered Foundation for Interreligious Diplomacy, director of interfaith relations of the Nevada Clergy Association, spiritual advisor to the National Association of Interchurch & Interfaith Families and more.
