(SPARKS, Nev.) Victorian Square Summer’s popular “Thursday Nights on the Square” continues rocking this Thursday, June 30 when bands Wild Horse Drive and The Sturdy Beggars take the stage at 7 p.m. outside Cantina Los Tres Hombres and Great Basin Brewing Co.  Thursday Nights on the Square takes place every Thursday night from 5-10 p.m. throughout the summer and features two live bands, vendors and activities designed to create a festive atmosphere and raise money for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.  Vendor space is available now on a first come, first serve basis by calling 775-784-9400, ext. 117.

Offering some of the best varieties of food from around town, the June 30 Thursday Night on the Square features Chinese food from Koko’s Teriyaki, refreshing smoothies from Jamba Juice, a kettle corn vendor to satisfy the sweet tooth and a lemonade booth to wash it all down. Visit the square the following week on Thursday, July 7 to enjoy a variety of savory sandwiches from the well-known GourMelt Grilled Cheese Truck.

Starting next Thursday, July 7, pocket $50 while also raising money for the charity with the new Chicken Plop Drop at Great Basin Brewing Co. Numbers are drawn multiple times throughout the night and the participant with the winning number receives $50 while $50 also goes to support the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

“The event has been a lot of fun for us so far and we’re so happy that it’s growing to include more vendors, more activities, and even events that help raise money for charity,” said Bonda Young of Great Basin Brewing Co. “The bands have been a great draw and the spectators are having a blast dancing and mingling on the Square. We look forward to watching it continue to grow.”

The lineup is set for the rest of the summer and includes Dead Winter Carpenters and Whitney Meyer Band Thursday, July 7 followed by Blues Monsters and James Cavanaugh and the Charm of Hugo July 14.
