Today at 11:35 a.m., Reno firefighters responded with the Bureau of Land Management and volunteers from the Sutcliff and Nixon Volunteer Fire Departments to a brush fire that was threatening nearby structures in the 2500 block of Desert Flower Lane in Sutcliff.

The quarter acre grass fire damaged a vehicle and fence but no structures were involved. “Crews did a great job of protecting nearby homes and containing the fire,” advised Battalion Chief Todd Keckley.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

The Reno Fire Department responded to the fire with two brush engines, one structure engine, two water tenders, one safety officer, one fire investigator, and one battalion chief.
