SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

The City of Sparks Police Department on Prater Way is the newest home to a 350kw solar photovoltaic system that doubles as a carport for police and department employee’s cars.

Hamilton Solar, LLC. of Reno provided a turnkey service, handling design, structural and electrical engineering, site inspections and installation of the project.

The $1.75 million project was paid for through federal grants and rebates from NV Energy. The City of Sparks will save approximately $60,000 annually with reduced electric bills.

In addition, The City of Sparks and Hamilton Solar will break ground this spring on two 100kw solar panel projects at the Golden Eagle Regional Park.

Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority goes solar
