The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest issued a prospectus on April 1, 2011, for two campgrounds’ concession operations that will begin January 1, 2012. The prospectus solicits proposals to operate and maintain campgrounds and day-use areas under a special use permit.
The operator is responsible for all operations and maintenance of facilities in the permit. Fees collected from recreation users accrue to the concessionaire, with a percentage returned to the government as a permit fee. Two permits will issued; one permit will be issued for Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts along the Sierra Front and one permit will be issued for the Ruby Mountains Ranger District in northeastern Nevada.
The prospectus includes 19 campgrounds on the Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts and 9 campgrounds and day-use facilities on the Ruby Mountains Ranger District. Forest Headquarters are located in Sparks, Nevada, with District offices located in Bridgeport, California, and in Carson City and Wells, Nevada.
Each prospectus is available to download from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest website at http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/htnf/bpcprospectus for the Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts and http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/htnf/rmrdprospectus for the Ruby Mountains Ranger District.
An informational meeting and site visit will be held during the week of June 13-17, 2011, for the Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts, and June 20-24, 2011, for the Ruby Mountains Ranger District.
