Learn how to attract and identify birds and find out how they help your garden in a free Green College Seminar entitled “Birds in your Yard” at Rail City Garden Center at 1720 Brierley Way in Sparks at 11 a.m. on Sat., March 5.
Dr. Alan Gubanich, UNR Emeritus Professor of Ornithology (a branch of zoology that concerns the study of birds) will share secrets of attracting birds to your yard. He’ll also detail the benefits birds provide for your garden.
Dr. Gubanich will describe how and what to feed birds, how to provide shelters for them and materials to encourage nesting.
While the Green College Seminar is free, the donation of one can of food for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada is encouraged. Seating is limited so call 775-355-1551 to register and reserve yours.
