SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
At least 18 new jobs will be coming online in the Greater Reno-Tahoe area thanks to a recent announcement by local cheese supplier, Pacific Cheese Company, Inc., that it’s expanding its Reno manufacturing facility, and Consolidated Agency Partners, a multi-state insurance agency that opened its headquarters in Reno.
Pacific Cheese Company, Inc., a leading supplier of premier-quality natural cheeses headquartered in Hayward, Calif., is opening its cheese processing division at its manufacturing facility at 8950 Double Diamond Parkway, as a result of acquiring Chateau Cheese Corporation of Vernon, Calif. The company will hire 16 employees, including a vice president of processing, director of quality assurance, production manager and production associates, among other positions. Interested applicants should visit the company website and apply online. The expansion represents a five-year economic impact to the region of $66,344,470. It’s estimated that as a result of the expansion, a total of $944,177 in state and county taxes will be generated over the next five years of operation.
The company opened its manufacturing facility in Reno, Nev., in 2004 and a variety of factors played into the region topping the list of locations for its expansion. “Once we acquired Chateau Cheese Corp., the decision to locate our cheese processing division in Reno was an easy one to make,” said Dale Tate, chief financial officer of Pacific Cheese Company. “The pro-business tax climate, aggressive state incentive programs, location to the west coast and our headquarters in Calif., were all paramount in helping us make that decision.”
Jeff Brigger of NV Energy Economic Development and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) assisted Pacific Cheese Company in its expansion, including representing the company in its application for state incentives at the Nevada Commission on Economic Development (NCED) meeting, February 15. Other key community partners who provided assistance include: Doug Browne, Devcon Construction; the City of Reno, Washoe County, Washoe County School District and NCED.
Consolidated Agency Partners provides an innovative business model for the insurance industry that combines clustering, networking, wholesale brokerage and retail insurance agent marketing, sales and support services to support its member agencies. The company’s acquisition of reputable local insurance agency, Menicucci Insurance Associates, marks Consolidated Agency Partners’ entrance into the Reno market. The new company, located at 190 Huffaker Lane, will hire two new employees as a result of its acquisition of Menicucci Insurance and retain nine existing employees.
Consolidated Agency Partners represents a five-year economic impact to the region of $24,974,073. It’s estimated that as a result of the company’s relocation to Reno, a total of $351,911 in state and county taxes will be generated over the next five years.
The company cited Reno-Tahoe’s favorable tax structure, improved cost of living, diverse lifestyle and affordable real estate among the top reasons for moving their company to the region.
“Consolidated Agency Partners is pleased to establish this exciting new company in Reno, and given recent changes in the Property and Casualty market segment, we anticipate rapid growth of our company in the coming years,” said Craig Fuher, president and chief operating officer of Consolidated Agency Partners.
EDAWN worked with Scott Shanks of NAI Alliance to assist the company in its relocation.
