Spooky Fun with a Western Flair in Reno’s Riverwalk District

Guys, ghouls and ghosts will scare with a western flair in downtown Reno’s Riverwalk District on Sat., Oct. 30th during Tricks, Treats & Treasures from 5 to 8 p.m.

Free family fun with games, entertainment, ghost tales, fire spinners and more are planned at the West Street Plaza and at West Street Market.

Trick-or-Treating & More

Trick-or-Treating locations will be detailed in a free “treasure map” to sweet treats available at many participating Riverwalk District merchant shops on Sat., Oct. 30th .

Tricks, Treats & Treasurers will kick off entertainment at the West Street Plaza with an opening proclamation and a dance, provided by Good Luck Macbeth at 5 p.m.

 A presentation by Kidscape productions will take the stage then the ghosts of Joaqin Miller, Lillie Langreee, Ol’ Virginny and Julia Bullette will be “called up” to share some spooky historical Nevada tales.

A spirited western shootout follows the ghostly tales then Edger Allen Poe will read his poem “The Raven.”  Controlled Burn fire dancers and stilt walkers will wrap up the evening’s entertainment.

A Chance to Win Prizes

Raffle tickets for a chance to win a variety of prizes offered by Reno Riverwalk District merchants will benefit the Children’s Cabinet of Northern Nevada, a public-private partnership which addresses the needs of children and families in our community. Tickets are $2 each and will be available for sale in the Reno eNVy booth in the West Street Plaza during the event. The winner must be present to win at the 7 p.m. drawing.
