harryreid1-297x300-6041351-6887604Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) today announced more than $4.5 million for the TIGGER II zero emissions circulator bus being developed by the Regional Transportation Commission in downtown Reno.  RTC Ride is receiving this competitive grant through the Department of Transportation. The funding will be spent on capital investments that will reduce the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of Reno’s public transportation.

“I thank the Department of Transportation for recognizing the potential for efficient and low emissions buses in Reno,” said Reid. “The investment in local public transportation will create jobs, keep Nevadans moving, and reduce pollution as the economy continues to recover.”
