Christiansen’s works are re-creations and deconstructions composed from found couches, armchairs, tables, mattresses and bed frames. Hunting the surrounding area for abandoned furniture, he reconstructs his finds into animals or deconstructs to create various “trophies” including “antler mounts” and stretched furniture “pelts.”
Nevada Arts Council artist receptions are privately funded and no state or public funds are used to host receptions.
The OXS gallery is located in Nevada Arts Council office at 716 N. Carson Street (intersection of Washington Street), Suite A, in Carson City and is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call 775-687-6680 for details. The OXS gallery is managed by the Artist Services Program.
