SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

RENO, Nev. – The Great Reno Balloon Race is heading into its 29th year and there is no better way to support this beloved event than to join the Aeronauts, the official volunteer group for the Balloon Race. Now is the time to register to volunteer for this year’s event, taking place Sept. 10 through 12 at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park near downtown Reno.

The Aeronauts are the backbone to the success of the Balloon Race and oversee the event site from start to finish. Members can expect to help with security, pilot crewing and setting up and breaking down the field, all while learning about one of the community’s most treasured non-profit, community events.

Volunteering any amount of time with the Aeronauts is valuable which is why they offer a number of different shifts to fit your schedule ranging from four to six hours in length. In order to ensure that the team is ready for September, members must attend the following meetings, which begin at 5:30 p.m.:

  • July 21– Nevada Air National Guard SANGA Club
  • Aug. 18 – Nevada Air National Guard SANGA Club
  • Sept. 8 – Rancho San Rafael Regional Park

To learn more about the Aeronauts and how to volunteer, including applications and shift times, please visit www.renoballoon.com or call (775) 826-1181.
