Lights Up rescheduled, Holiday Spectacular takes place December 5 at The Summit

Celebrate the season with The Summit at its rescheduled Holiday Spectacular. The festivities will take place on Monday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m. Join The Summit in the plaza next to Vans and Tilly’s to watch Santa’s arrival and a grand fireworks show.

Holiday Spectacular will include guest appearances from the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). The event, sponsored by Renown Children’s Hospital, welcomes CMNH’s Champion Children Katy and Paige DuPriest and their sister, Alexis, as they help escort Santa and Mrs. Claus to their “North Pole” post. The three children will ride alongside Santa and Mrs. Claus in the antique fire truck, an annual favorite of the event. Renown’s classic 1949 ambulance and past miracle children will also help welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to The Summit.

The Summit is excited to announce that the following organizations will attend the Holiday Spectacular providing an opportunity for members of the community to donate to those in need. Organizations will include: The Red Cross who will be collecting monetary donations for the victims of the Caughlin Fire; The Salvation Army will be collecting kitchenware, blankets, sheets and other household items for the Caughlin Fire victims; The Food Bank of Northern Nevada will be collecting items such as hearty soups and stews, peanut butter, canned beans, vegetables, fruits, chili, tuna, rice and pasta.

Renown Children’s Hospital will be providing the emcees for the event including Joel Muller, VP of Fund Development, Renown Health Foundation and Becky Haase, manager of pediatrics, Renown Children’s Hospital.
