Riverwalk Gift Guide

The Reno Riverwalk district has everything you need for holiday gift giving this year. Local shopping in the heart of downtown Reno at the many local businesses in the Reno Riverwalk district is a one of a kind experience that will have you checking off boxes on your holiday gift giving list in no time and with so much to show for it.

From staycation spa days to art experiences, from gift cards to local eateries or gift baskets for those who love our Biggest Little City, the Reno Riverwalk district is the place to explore, enjoy and shop.

Someone on your list might want or need a staycation complete with a spa day. Never fear: your “go to” for this is the Renaissance Hotel and the Refuge Spa. Not only is the spa amazing but the atmosphere at the Renaissance is truly wonderful when it comes to fine dining and fun activities like indoor, or outdoor, bocce ball.

Located in the heart of downtown and the Riverwalk district, the Renaissance Hotel is close to uniquely Reno experiences like the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, the not-for-profit Bruka Theater and great local coffee shops and restaurants. In addition to these local hot spots any staycation at the Renaissance Hotel includes, of course, the opportunity to enjoy a nice walk along the river – perfect and downright majestic in any weather.

Local restaurants, eateries, bars and pubs in the Reno Riverwalk district have rave reviews on Yelp and other food review sites, and they offer gift cards that make great gifts for the foodies in your life.

Check into the Wild River Grille, known for amazing salmon and seafood, The Old Granite Street Eatery which also offers a market and take out, The Office or Liberty Food & Wine Exchange to pick up a gift card or two to use as stocking stuffers, appreciation gifts or to take family and friends out to a nice holiday dinner.

You could also surprise your loved ones with the Biggest Little Pass, an experience-based gift that will allow them to get special deals and coupons for local businesses and restaurants in Reno and the Riverwalk district. This pass serves as a curated collection of local businesses, featuring local restaurant, bars and eateries especially, and is available as a digital coupon book to all of the venues included. There are multiple levels and prices available and these passes might just be the ultimate gift card for our hometown.

If you have art lovers in your life, the Nevada Museum of Art has an amazing gift shop, for starters and on top of the amazing art-themed gifts available, you could also give the gift of membership: a year-long art experience. The Nevada Museum of Art is a beautiful part of art culture and it is more than possible to spend an entire day there looking at the exhibits, spending time on the gorgeous rooftop, and eating at the museum restaurant, chez louie.

Also for art lovers make sure to stop by the Sierra Arts Foundation where you can also pick up a membership, and the Crafted Palette, an art cafe that offers a DIY art experience with classes, private events and even serves coffee and cocktails.

The Reno Riverwalk district also includes the National Auto Museum, a one of a kind museum that has something for the entire family to enjoy. Major attractions include cars of the stars, a collection of celebrity owned classic cars, and the Speed exhibit that features cars that competed in speed races all over the world.

For Nevada lovers be sure to stop by Home Means Nevada for unique and cool items that feature our city and state. From t-shirts, mugs, and wall decor to reusable bags, candles and other cute gifts for people of all ages, Home Means Nevada has quality clothing and items featuring classic and creative images of our fine state that will make any one who loves Nevada smile this holiday season.

Gift baskets make beautiful presents for friends and family and you can grab a gift basket packed with intentionally and beautifully curated local and regional goods at Urban Market. These baskets have salty, savory and sweet foods in a fantastic presentation and feature items from local artisans in the Reno/Tahoe region.

There are just a few shopping days left this holiday season. Make sure to spend at least one of them shopping for locally made and unique gifts while exploring the hidden treasures and hip spots in shopping in the Reno Riverwalk district.
