First Thursdays in MidTown
The annual MidTown Holiday Party & Tree Lighting is back! The inaugural event that kicked off in 2019 was a fun community builder that was halted the following year due to COVID. But it’s back as part of the ever-growing recurring monthly event known as 1st Thursdays in MidTown. Community events like these are why MidTown is “The Heart of Reno.”
“The 30-foot tree shines as a beacon of hope in the center of our community; it literally lights up the darkness. The Tree Lighting is an opportunity to come together as a community, share in the festive fun, and enjoy the holiday spirit.” said Craig Parish, MidTown President
When: Thursday, December 2 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Where: Living Stones parking lot (445 S. Virginia St.)
What: During the event enjoy live music, tree lighting, choir, photo booth, Santa and his elf, hot cocoa, food and drink trucks, hot churros, face painting, glitter braids, pedicab rides, and an art show.
As part of 1st Thursdays in MidTown, be sure to treat yourself to a day at your favorite MidTown retailers, services, bars, and restaurants. Get your holiday shopping done early. Our local businesses plan exciting in-store events including food and beverage tastings, local art exhibits, live music, and more.
Each merchant creatively plans their own event so check each listing for individual hours and details at renomidtown.com/upcoming-events-midtown.
About MidTown Reno
The mission for the Midtown District is to develop a sense of community and positive identity. We do this through supporting local businesses, coordinating events, and promoting the district with a unified voice. “From California street to Center street, all the way down South Virginia St. to Mt. Rose, Midtown is a place to explore, find yourself, lose yourself, meet someone new, eat something different, shop for something unique, walk, skip, dance, love and just be.”
